Folks I was interested in buying the "Vinyl Velvet underground" album on ebay

Both are new: one going for 18 bucks the other 180: the description is same: What are differences and what would it mean to me in terms of sound?

What people deem as collectable They will sound the same. Some are signed. Some are first sleeve, second sleeve, etc.

Buy one that is MINT and don't pay 180

Buy the new copy...LOL

But seriously Rob: we hear a lot about the pressing, mastering, etc. Will there be a diff?

I find the 180g records track better. They just seen quieter. I can't explain it.

Guys Guys I expect more. Even the 180g sealed seem to have very different prices. Dig dig.....does it make sense or not and hey Mike I love your new Avitar

The three different 180g releases at Soundstage are all three from different labels and pressing plants. If you really want the album your best bet is to check Discogs and Steve Hoffman forums and see if there is a consensus.

I have not really looked at those sites yet. Thanks. I can tell you that who presses makes a huge diff even if all else remains same.

Glad to help. In fact your thread inspired me to pull out my "gold stamp Promo" of Rock n Roll Animal I hadn't listened to in 30 years. Got it when I was working for Record Bar while in college in the early 70's
