Best output (usb or aes) for U1 and U1 mini users

I have a U1 which is connected to my Musetec dac. Looking for opinions on best output to use-usb or aes. Obviously, I can try and decide for myself. The problem is that I currently have nothing but cheap basic cables. I plan to buy a better cable once I have identified the best output to use. What are your experiences?
 
Peter, Do you believe that aes is generally better, or more specifically it is better with Lumin streamers?
 
Peter, Interesting that you believe the Musetec works best with the aes. The designer of the dac says that in his personal system he uses usb. Are you thinking of the newest version of the dac, the 005 version? When I asked the question originally what I was hoping to determine was if the Lumin U1 had an output that is considered optimized as compared with the others.
 
Peter, As an additional point of reference for you, I have tried a USB cable and an aes cable both from Network Acoustics with my Musetec 005 dac. My conclusion-they both sound very good, and nearly identical. On some songs the USB may sound just slightly more airy and transparent, but the differences are very small. Rich, from Network Acoustics, also using the same Musetec dac slightly preferred the USB but he was not streaming from a Lumin. I may keep the USB over the aes simply for DSD and sample rates above 196. Is there any other reason to prefer one over the other?
 
If it works well for you over USB, then that's great.

Please post a screenshot or tell me the the values of the several entries of "USB DAC" VID PID and Device in Lumin About of U1 MINI.
 
Peter, I would be happy to provide that information if I had any idea what you are looking for. Please explain what you need. Also, I have a u1, not a mini.
