The more I listen to this DAC the more I appreciate just how good it is. Simply spectacular... the pre-amplifier section is excellent; the HGC is very smooth and open sounding. It seems to just get out of the way with either digital sources or SACD analog inputs. I have also been really enjoying the headphone amplifier with my Sennheiser HD800 S's. I thought I would miss the balanced headphone configuration, however Benchmark does such a fantastic job on the headphone amplifier that I do not miss it at all.
I would say this pre-amp would compete against any I have ever heard, and the purity of the DAC is as good as any on the market.
So far this has become my favorite piece of gear... amazing equipment built for the person looking for purity!
