Behind the blue: The making of McIntosh's iconic amplifiers

Great to see the steps on how these are built, and hearing that 1/3 of the cost was in the custom made cases.

Pretty amazing. It’s easy to overlook what goes into a finished product unless you see step by step what’s involved. Since getting my MC303, I’ve found a new respect and love for the brand. McIntosh is what I will end up with as my reference going forward. I’m excited every night to turn on my gear and unwind in front of my stereo. Seeing that video and others explaining how McIntosh is made helps me appreciate what I have now and hopefully what’s to come :)

I would too but the original 1.2kws were sort of a dream of mine. I am curious how the new ones compare to the old as well.

Would love to hear how these new compare with the old , like a MC2500 or 2600 ..

Prior to Water Jet, there was still Laser, plasma torch, and good old CNC milling.

I got to run one of the first sheet metal cutting Laser machines in the US. They use the Water Jet machines a lot in the food industry, cuts frozen fish like butter.

So they cut the glass plates with laser..?

Wish Mac would drop the meters everywhere look and just confine them to the amplifiers as they were before , cant handle the gold teeth look with meters everywhere today ...

Regards .
