I wanted the tweeter at ear level. Tilting them back to aim the tweeter at ear level was not as open and effortless as I like. The stands fixed that.

If the tweeters in your Westies are at your ear level when seated, no need to think about it. My problem was compounded by being 6'1" and I have tall chairs.
