BDA-2....................

Hi

We are looking at it now to see what is possible. As best I can make out the issue is there are a number of ways to do DSD - so far it looks like most do DSD 64 over PCM (as the carrier) which is called DOP. Then there is DOP 128 and finally DSD Native decoding. There are opinions as to which is the optimum way to do it and there are different DAC chips required to address these options. So far it appears that DSD 64 over PCM is the option most are using currently.

Bob. I have the BDA2 for last few days and so far I'm really enjoying it. It built like a tank and the sounds really smooth and neutral ( I always thought the Bryson was little cold to my ears ) I don't know if you ever going to play with your computer music file but highly recommend the buy with their digital player ( BDP1 or 2) I didn't have to install any software cause I use them with external hard drives. Installation was so easy as well just remember when you plug in your hard drive it takes some time to load it. Once you pair them it's so fast to use it. I did comparison with my much more expensive CD player ( Red book CD vs ripped file ) the Bryston stood up very well. Highly recommend especially for first time digital file user.

Both units are stereophile recommend Class A

Hello James !

Happy new year, AKM4399 and is able to read files DSD64 and 128 encapsulated in PCM DoP ?

hello James !

Could you tell me which output to use Foobar with ASIO, WASAPI event or push, ks ?

Hello James!

I have playback dsd64&128 of 2l.no with the procedure of this page http/jplay.eu/manual , I followed the instructions starting from line “DSD playback with foobar2000”, at the stage where I must select driver ASIO jplay, I selected driver ASIO bryston and I left just like say in the instructions. I played the 2 files, they passed, it there a small latency of a few ms to the launching of the pieces.

Thus my BDA2 play DSD as a native ?
The BDA2 the downsample in PCM ?

Excuses my English I pass through a translator, I am French.

Hello James,
I has a BDA2, I wanted if there is a big difference in treatment between AES and S/PDIF rca ?
My cd player has an S/PDIF output.

HI Mata

The advantage of the AES is it is a Balanced connection has twice the voltage swing and the receiving devices seem happy with that arrangement and reducing any RF pickup in the cables helps as well so generally I recommend it over RCA COAX. The other connection which is the BNC is also very good because it maintains a true 75 Ohm connection from source to player. One option that seems to work well is a cable with a BNC on the BDP2 end and a COAX on the CD Player end.

If you were given a hierarchy, would it ?

What I want to know is if AES has not been optimized over other S / PDIF inputs and BNC ?

No optimization beyond the characteristics of the connection type itself.
