BBC monitor sounds. - My all time favorite.

I'm a bbc monitor type guy for life. My main speakers are refurbed 57's, but I also own LS50's and Spendor S3/5R2's.

The little Spendors are amazing on classical music in a smallish/medium sized room.

I've had more pair of LS3/5a's than I can remember and had P3ESR's with a sub for three years (before I got the Quads).

Love the sound of a bbc monitor legacy speaker....
 
Love these speakers. It's all over once that midrange gets its claws into you...
 
In the 1980s I had a pair of Spendor SP-1s. Terrific speaker. Very musical.

I have heard and like the Harbeth 30.1s a lot. Haven't heard the 40.1s yet.

I am now planning for the C7 in the living room.
But I have to try the P3 there first. Now I lost all my references....

Jerome. You remind myself few years ago. I was doing the same thing. I started with C7ES2 - C7ES3- M30- SHL5 - M40.1 & PS3 ( had them together just like you:) )

They are great speakers and you know how much I loved them. This is the brand you must listen on your audio journey. If I going to buy them again ? It would be either C7ES3 or SHL5. The C7 is Warmest speakers in the line some might think is too warm but in my opinion they are most most musical speakers in their line up.
