I've never heard that but I've owned plenty of Bat gear. All great value for the money, but I've never bought most of it new either. Had reliability issues with the only amp I did buy brand new from them. But there pre's are tanks and really nice. A pair of 75se's are always an option too.
So I'm no help . Lol!!!
