Based on several people's feedback using one in their system, it's one of the things you need to do at one point to get rid of a lot of noise issues (it doesn't solve them all, but is a great thing to integrate in your system).

Is it worth the money? IMHO, without a doubt. I have found that cleaning up noisy power issues can have as big an effect on your system as changing the speakers.
