b&w 804d3

so i used to have a pair of 804s and they were beautiful . nearly got a 804d but i am afraid the focal1028 was about a third cheaper so that won . anyone got the 804d3 and care to comment how they like it or not ?

I brought home some 804D3s to compare to my former 1028BEs.

I felt the 804D3s were better balanced and definately fuller sounding.
I felt both were still a little hot up top.
I felt the 1028BEs has more mid punch the B&W was a little more laid back.

Ultimately the 804D3s didn't bring enough up side, particularily in the top end, to warrant moving to them.

If starting fresh it might have been different I suppose.

Try Aerial 6Ts or 7Ts.

Also new Canton Reference K series 5 or 7. And in the UK the Reynaud Orfeo or Abscisse.

yes this is why i went for the 1028be . you can get them new in uk at very good prices , about half the cost of 804d3 . so it has to be good to buy the 804d3 . any more thoughts on these rather than other models
