I am keen to go Ayre but they don't have honest representation in Australia.
The Australian Ayre dealer tried to palm me off a year old unit he can't sell, without DoP and not 384KHz ready. He quoted me $2,000 more for the current unit.
Ayre dealer representation here is very poor. As the sole Australian dealer/importer and retailer (based in Sydney), he wasn't familiar with the product nor where it is at. Initially tried me on at $10k for a Pro unit before coming down to $7k which is $1K more than the current standard model price he quoted. Opportunistic to say the least. Obviously no list pricing to work from.
Not the first time. The same dealer tried to play me with Clearaudio product, goading me to shop elsewhere (offshore) if I didn't like it.
