Just curious if anyone has measured your amp temps? I'm getting readings of 118-120 degrees F maximum surface temperatures measured by an infrared thermometer less than a foot away. Are your temps similar?

I owned MX-R's for years. They get pretty hot, I never measured em, but you couldn't keep your hand on them for more than a second or three...I left mine fully power on for literally 6 years

Thank you for the reply. I usually have them on all weekend. I usually turn them on when I get home from work and off when I leave. I have to say last night they sounded amazing. I went back to Kimber Kable interconnects and OMG, what a wonderful listening experience. They seem to benefit from extended warm up.

Do you fully power them off or just in standby? I agree on extended warm up time...they are very good amps ! Ditto you're pre !

I guess they go back into standby. I press the little led in front which turns from blue to green. They feel slightly warm when I come back to power them up fully. There's no real power switch.

Hi Joe,
I measured the temp. with a meat thermometer and got similar results… temps ranged between 117-121 degrees F. Also, one of my MXR-20s was consistently 2 degrees cooler than the other one.

Best, Duke

Duke,

Thank you so much for checking. One of my amps is about 2 degrees hotter than the other one.
