Jerome - I understand where you're coming from regarding the Sabre DAC, however there are some excellent products using it. Accuphase is one such example, which has a presentation which is far from the dry and sterile characteristic which many attribute to the Sabre. As with most things in high end audio, it's not always about a specific part but has more to do with the entire implementation which ultimately determines their sound properties. I do see your point though and understand your logical thought process.
 
I agree that that intensity of Ayon's advertising may result in negative customer reaction .
But as an owner of three versions of Crossfire since 2010 I am of the opinion that is close to perfection match with Avantgarde speakers .
I auditioned at home at least 8 different amps making comparisons with Crossfire and found no one to be better, at least for my ears.
As far as relability is concerned, the third iteration was sent to the dealer under warranty because of issues with automatic biass control.
Apart from that, 6 years of pure joy and satisfaction, no problem with tubes at all.
