Beauties... Look even nicer than what's on the AG site.
Is it just my monitor, or do the horns, the Vivids AND the blue tape all match?

Bet this would sound extra special on them:

Meant to ask what amps. How do the VAC compare to your Triodes?

Thanks guys. Yes, the blue on the AG’s and Vivid’s is very close. The blue tape is quite a bit lighter. I worked on the AG’s until about 7pm last night and got them dialed in. I ran two long USB Cables from the back of the speakers to the laptop and then using the room measurements, dialed in the AG speakers bass to the room.

I’m going to try the VAC amps on them today. I was using the Gryphon Diablo 120 at first. Believe it or not, with KT150’s, the VAC amps have a SET like sound.

Magico M3’s will be shown with either the Pass X350.8 or VAC Signature 200iQ monos combined with the new Lampizator Pacific and the Avantgarde Uno XD’s will be shown with Lampizator 211 amps and Lampizator Golden Atlantic.

I would love to be using my ARC preamps, but the Lampizator’s all have built in volume control.

When you say "room measurements" what do you mean? H-W-L dimensions or microphone measurements from a 3rd party program?

Microphone. Pink noise. Get an idea of how the speaker is interacting with the room and that gives me a starting point.

For a quick and dirty, I use Spectrum Analyzer on my phone:

For more serious calibration, I like the Dayton Audio Microphone System.

For a quick and dirty, Tidal has pink noise tracks.

I have pink noise on my Stereophile, RR/XLO, and Ayre IBE test discs, but never realized something was to be learned from graphing the noise. One last question (unless your reply raises more ...) -- are you using the phone's microphone with that Spectrum app or a plug-in mic?

Very similar sound, but the Duo's do play bigger and seem to integrate better at the 150hz range vs the 290hz range. But again, we are talking about a 435i vs M4 if you know what I mean. Both are excellent. Honestly, the Uno XD's are properly the better match for my room, but the Duo Mezzo XD's are so damn good, I just had to make them work - and I think I have.

Mike, your advise were then spot-on but regretfully, I had the Devialet & Raidho D3.1. After 3 years, I've decided to give myself another go at re-building the entire retirement system, not without a lot of story telling to my wife. Long story short, I got my way (maybe of my age perhaps?). The Uno XD Piano Edition will be delivered next month and so are the rest except the Luxman D-10x in August. The speakers are specifically configured to my room measurement in Avantgarde factory so that only minor adjustment, if necessary will be done upon delivery. Asked for this (and provided room exact measurement - Width, Height & Length) for a unbox, plus & play. Still, was told minor adjustment may still be needed due to placement. Oh well. I am looking forward to enjoying this new system upon retiring from the workforce - truly this time. 30th June, my last day at work. Wow! How time flies! Cheers.

Piano Gloss Black with Stealth Grey Horns (Understand this costs a bit more, but what the heck, go all the way as after all, a nag is a nag). Ill take a pic and hopefully you can help post. The Lux will be missing till Aug when it will be delivered. Hope you like it!

Hi Jerry

I just bought a pair too. Kalahari Desert colour. I live in singapore as well. Still wondering if i would ever know how to do the DSP. Mike - i tried your quick and dirty method with the iphone spectrum analyzer but wasnt sure what i was to look for ��
