Avantgarde Duo Mezzo XD's RMAF Write-up

Thank you guys :) . I am glad you like my setup.

Mike,

Of course I will be grateful for details of your settings.
For time being I have only two of them : the factory default setting ( gain -11 dB ) and the one made by Radek from Eter Audio ( gain - 8dB ) yesterday, I like more the latter.
I will download the SW from Avantgarde site and will start my own way within a few days.

Former speakers- Avantgarde Duo Omega G2.
Before we decided to order Duo Mezzo we payed with my wife a visit to Avantgarde HQ in June 2015. We compared Duo Mezzo with Trio with 231 subs cause we have no space for basshorns. Duo Mezzo impressed us more with coherent and full body sound.
Then AG started the new XD series and based on Mike's opinion and very succesful presentation at Rocky Mountain I ordered Duo Mezzo XD.
How is the sound?
Well, in one word - better:)
Will try to be more precise later on, when the speakers will stabilize.

Marslo - how are you enjoying your Avantgarde Duo Mezzo XD's?

Still wait with conclusions because I did not have my phono stage , it arrived yestarday.
The speakers approach 100 h of playing music , the bass satelite are always on which is recommended by the producer.
I am very pleased and I think that the settings showed above are not bad at all in my room.

The general remark concern the influence of the bass on the rest of the bandwith - I did not realize how much the woofer influence the perception of the midrange and highs.

It sure does - but in a very very good way. You put the settings back to flat and it sounds completely different (not as good) and this is why the XD series, to me, is miles ahead of its predecessor.

Marslo, when you mention the settings above, are you referring to mine? Are you using the same as mine or close to mine? If not, try mine for fun.

I fully agree with the first statement.

As far as settings are concerned I refer to those presented on my picture , post #111.
I will emulate one day your settings, so far I have 14 different options.
Will be much more convenient if you could pls make the picture or print the screen of your settings in AG control software.
