They sound awesome in his room!

Thanks. Yes, he is very very happy with the AG's. I got a text at 3:30am this morning "these Avantgarde's are f'ing amazing!!". He's using a Melody PSET 300b integrated that he picked up in China for $3000 (his work takes him to Asia regularly). He bought it just to get started with things. He has the Chord DAVE (and Lampi GG). The DAVE/Melody/AG was making sweet music last night. I spent about 90 minutes dialing them into his room for the initial break in period. After break in (about 200 hours), I'll be back tweaking things.

Wow! One can really appreciate how massive they are - just look at the Raidho D3 in the background - gives a good sense of scale. The Raidho look so slim and small in comparison! Wow... congrats to you both...

I have this same Melody amp. Rolled a quad of Sophia Royal Princess 300b’s in and it’s a stellar amp. Weighing in at around 80 pounds the transformer are mammoth and it drives my Quad 57’s and 85db monitors with more than ample authority.

I've had this same Melody amp for years. It's a killer amp - weights around 85 pounds. Huge transformers. It drives nearly any speakers. I installed a quad of Sophia Royal Princess tubes and the tone and separation it brought to voices and instruments is really superlative. Highly recommended, if you can find one.
