Avantgarde and Subs

I'm wondering if there are general recommendations for where to start
the crossover from Subs to Main Woofers in the AG Duo's? (I have the
Duo Grosso). Jim Smith recommends around 140z which seems very
high, but if anyone knows about AG's, it's him...

I'd love to know why 140hz crossover work well on AG's.

Armin, from AG, recommends 40hz.

I think I misunderstood your question. I thought you were asking about the horn to woofer crossover. If you're speaking of woofer to sub crossover, Armin is right. Start with 40hz but don't be surprised if you go lower (like 28hz).

Yes he did. I don't have or need external subs with the Duo Mezzo XD's. Four big 12's and 2000 watts of power are no challenge for my room. I get 20hz no problem.

I was thinking midhorn to sub.

For sub to Duo bass units, I'd probably start at 30, IF you have found the best place to sit to hear the smoothest bass from the DUOs.
