Aurender N100H Caching Network Streamer Review ....

Thanks for sharing Joe, good review.

As an owner of the N100H I can only commend the quality and neutrality of this review. Personally, I however think the fact the Aurender does not thin out the sound, as many other devices do, could have been emphasized more as a benefit. This is especially, as IMHO, that does not lead to loss of detail in the high frequencies.

Only if it has outputs other than USB [emoji19]The other Aurender that has SPDIF output is N10 which is more than double the price (scratching head).

Well, sounds like investing in a high quality USB cable might a good idea :).

Technically USB audio has nothing to do with ones and zeros, as music is not transported as digital data, but as streaming audio. Hence, any cable properties applying to your SPDIF cable also apply to your USB cable.

But as Mike Lavorgne points out, this is one of the religious debates between knows and know nots, where the latter shout the loudest.

As pointed out on another thread, adding a high quality Ethernet cable also made a significant difference.

The N100H is absolutely stunning...beyond words!

If your dac does not have a usb input, you can get a good usb-spdif converter like the alpha usb from Berkeley to enjoy all the benefits that the N100H has to offer.

J. :)
