vs A1 - More detail, tighter bass. A1 is very analog sounding though.
Thanks, Mike. Compared to the Atlantic DAC?

No where near as smooth as the A1. The Lumin A1 optimizes digital that sounds like Analog. And the Aurender uses the AKM chip. That's the same chip Esoteric uses. Excellent sounding CD/SACD players, certainly not lacking detail.
I'm not saying one is better than the other. Very system dependent. But what I am saying, is that the Aurender A10 is absolutely unmatched at its price point AND, let's not forget, it's MQA compatible. A little future proofing goes a long way.
If I had a budget of ~$5-6K, that's what I would be buying. No doubt.

All good Mike, but I find what chip a unit is using has very little to do with how it sounds. The analog section after the chip is what makes or breaks it (according to me anyways... ;-)).
The chip is obviously a very important ingredient, no doubt. I just don't believe it's possible to describe the general sound of a DAC based on the chip used.
We will just have to agree to disagree![]()
Yes indeed.
The Aurender A10 is going to be a great piece, but so is the Lumin U1. Good for customers to have choices to fit their needs. Aurender N10 still has 4TB of internal storage, U1 doesn't. For some that will matter, for others it won't. Aurender A10 uses completely different DAC chip's from Lumin. Different sounds.
Fun times! I'm glad I carry both of these amazing brands!

Mike,
Which one you preferred to pair with Devialet? Fun times! So many to choose from....Aurender/Lumin/Melco. I don't think DAC is necessary when connecting to the Devialet via AES or Coaxial or USB and analog input might not be good choice as it goes through multiple conversions.
Hi,
A quick question on the A10 - analogy filters : high current, low current & min current.
Any idea what will they do ? Tried while listening to music to switch around. Donesn't seem to have any impact at all.
I have had this player for a few weeks. Pretty darn good as a standalone ,fantastic when paired with a quality preamp. highly recommended!!
