Mate these two and you get sweet sound...wow...Beyond my expectations.

We often talk about synergy and I thought my OC9/III sounded good..but this is rich, creamy, wide, detailed...I have only been able to play one album side so far and I am very impressed.

So now I feel good about my purchase and I will report back when I get to use some of my TEST albums...ones I use to say "Ahhhhh"...and am so familiar with that if there is anything OFF, I will know.

I will say, don't discount the Audio Technica lineup...they make some stunning carts for half the price of many "elite" brands.

Setup was a breeze, alignment, VTF, etc. and NO I didn't break the cantilever this time (I kept the guard on just to be sure...lol). Tracks very well, quiet and I am very impressed with the mids and bass. The detail of the highs is as I expected but a little less fatiguing than the OC9...But man that stage placement and mids that are not lost in the background, And BASS I actually had to notch back from where my OC9 and At150MLX was ..it is strong and clear.

Anyway, that's my story...

Looks good Rob. It's nice to hear that you're enjoying your new set-up. What are you spinning there, R.E.M. Out of Time?

No gain issue at all...its funny because I am testing that NAD 1130 as a phono stage. I forgot to switch it from MM to MC...and it still played fine though I did have to boost my volume. When I realized, I moved it to MC and bang...spot on my normal gain...no noise, no hum...VERY smooth.

Sort of night and day between the AT33EV and the ATOC9/III. The AT33 is more balanced, smooth, even keeled and showing no favorites to any range. The OC9 on the other hand is great but leans HEAVY to the upper range detail. (Might be a good one for Bill..lol)

I am REALLY glad I decided to switch...

For a phono stage, I do plan on trying the Vista at some point...Love the flexibility...

Vista Audio - one step ahead
