I received this as a replacement for a defective Janpanese model (AT33PTG/II) that was defective. Audio Technica was under no obligation to replace it since I did not purchase in the US but AT Japan told AT US to take care of me...and they did.

This is a very wide range, detailed cart with specs that match or exceed many at twice the price. (MSRP is 1200 but can be had for $500 +). It is a solid performed with wide sound stage, tight bass, great mids and very detailed. It tracks incredibly and being an MC cart, quiet, does not transmit alot of vinyl noise.

Recently, LPGear had the OC9/II for $294 (prior model with pretty much same specs) which for anyone taking a foray for the first time into MC is amazing. of course, if you do go MC you need a phono stage to support it but thats another story...

Love my cart...brings the music to life.

Bay...very nice cart Needledoctor.com has it listed for $799 and its predecessor (AT OC9ML/II) @ $499. Here's a review of the predecessor which got a Reviewer's Choice award: http://www.soundhifi.com/vinyl.htm. The reviewer comapres it to the Clearaudio Maestro MM at the time (2007) and gives the nod to the AT.

Wow..thanks for the link ! I had some folks purchase the OC9 /II on the special ...THEY LOVED IT..So felt good to get some people into LOMC for a decent price..

I would really like to try a Benz sometime..but here they (the ones I am eyeing) are on backorder like 1 year.

Anyway, thanks !!

Take a good look at the Sumiko Blackbird Rob, my Benz's have been collecting dust ever since I tried the Sumiko! and for a lower price the Blue Point Evo gets you darned close.

That looks awesome...But I am confused...That cart seems like it doesn't need a MC phono stage (2.5mv is pretty much MM territory) ...is that true ? If so this is a FIND for many who want MC but dont have the associated gear...specs are awesome...how is the detail ?

Small edit: I read some reviews about the exposed coil wires having issues...you ever have an issue ?

I've been through a couple, never had a problem, and yep, they are HO so no step up tranny needed you can use it right through your MM input.
