Read a lot about this. As I have embark on a long journey into the Vinyl World, started to wonder if I should also buy something to keep my collection in pristine condition.
So, when a local fellow audiophile gave me call to go down and take a look at this LATEST FAVE (and so called, one of the best today), Went straight down.
The demo was a breeze, not something that is complicated. Its as simple as plug the disc cleaner into the wall socket, fill it with 4 bottles of DISTILLED WATER and mix it with a small bottle of CLEANER and its ready to clean one's collection. A simple press of a button will denote the intensity of the cleaning, longer time, for dirtier vinyls. A record was then put into the slot, hit a button and presto, the machine works. One can see that there is some form of "smoke" emitting (guess must be the ultrasonic cleaning at work). The record was simultaneously cleaned on BOTH sides, all at once.
When its over, the record was shining clean. Was told NOT to overwork the machine, although its it build like a tank. For the kind of monies, I will be very gentle with it. So, the advise was, use it like cleaning up to 10 records at one time, rest it for a while, like say an hour before beginning the next lot.
For sure, the pricing was very attractive as both of us ordered it (and its a very good price as compared to the US RSP), with a custom made acrylic cover thrown in. As I am traveling in the next 3 weeks, like the Ortofon combo, told the dealer to deliver end May.
I think I am set for the Vinyl enjoyment now. The next thing would be to find or build a cabinet to house my 450 LP collection (new, sealed and mostly Vintage collection).
Cheers!
