I know many people refuse to read the various audio magazines, and that's fine. I like to read them all - Tone, Stereophile, TAS, HiFi News and others. I must say that HiFi News is outstanding. I am able to get HiFi News through the Apple Newsstand for my iPad. They are always reviewing the latest and greatest products and aren't afraid to tackle anything it seems. I was pleasantly surprised to see their latest issue already had a review of the new Marantz NA11S1 - which I own and was just released. They also review various USB cables this month and have some good articles on computer audio. They definitely seem to tread where others fear to go.

Mike, I've been reading audio mags since the late sixties, and at one point I had subscriptions with a dozen of them, from all over; USA, Canada, UK, France. I have a room full of them (I kept them).

I still read few of them, but not like I used too. ...Because of the Internet.

Many music selections I purchased over the years were from those mags. ...You get used to a writer/reviewer's style and taste.

* Much has evolved in audio product reviews over the last fifty years, and the writer/reviewers have adjusted to our new world. ...Some more appropriately than others.
I don't really have a favorite audio mag; they all have their pros and cons.
But the very best quality presentation is hi>fi+

I like TAS for the music reviews and the job they do on downloads too. I do like reading many of their reviews but find their constant reviewing of out of my price range gear a bit exhausting.

I read most of them, but my favorites are "Hi Fi News" from England and "Steroephile". I don't believe in a measurement only mentality, but I still like to read how components measure.

Don't you know the Internet put the hurt on all of them.
Sad really.

I used to read them all also, but mainly internet stuff for the past several years.
Still have a large stack of older audio mags in my "Second Office" though.:D

I subscribe to Hi Fi +, Hi Fi News, TAS and Stereophile. Other than attending audio shows this is the best way to find out about new gear and trends. I don't make buying decisions based on the reviews but at least I get an idea of what is out there.

I subscribe to TAS and Stereophile, but hit the web to augment. I find I like reading the 'character' of a component (dynamics, frequency extension, tonality, image weight and texture, etc.) from both rags and sometimes the measurements from Stereophile. I tend to ignore any subjective superlatives they throw into the writing as I find they use it way too often to have meaning.
