I guess more specifically "Vacuum Tube Irony in Florida Winter.

So, here in central, coastal, western, Florida we are having a typical cold front going through. Mid 60's during the day and 40's at night.

Yea, I know what you are saying that's no cold front you sissy. We lived year round on an island 3 miles into the Atlantic off the coast of Maine in a previous life so, I do know what cold is.

Any way my wife is setting downstairs in front of a fire with a blanket reading a book.

So, hear I am happily listening to music in my room upstairs but, with enough vacuum tube heat that I have the dedicated air conditioning running set to 72 degrees to keep it from getting to hot. Not complaining just struck my as funny.

Time to go check the fire fore her.
Happy Listening

Ha! Great story. Perception becomes reality. I could use some heat now :)

What island in Maine did you live on? I’ve kayaked out to most of them.

Best,
Ken

It was Peaks Island, in the Portland area. Nothing like a winter storm when you have a temp of -20 and throw in a 50 MPH wind on top of that.

No Kayaking but, you would see the Lobstermen and Fishermen out in horrendously bad weather trying to make a living.

Some nights, we would be catching the last Ferry in Portland at 11:30PM heading up Casco Bay to a few islands. There would often be fishermen out on the deck of their boats mending nets in windy, snowy weather in preparation to head back out that night. That is a brutal life though most all would do nothing else.
