Audio company that never disappoints...

It’s time for the holiday cheer and good thoughts, so I thought might be a good time to ask the question: which one is or which ones are the audio gear manufacturers you feel never disappoint?

Here’s mine: Shunyata
- have a range of cables and power conditioners in different price ranges and so far I have never experienced a situation where I would say I do not like the end result or would have expected more
- latest positive experience was installing the Venom EU7 in my summerhouse system after it was left jobless by being replaced by the Triton in my main system a couple years back
- always the same nice ‘wow’ and smile effect

With this, I wish everyone on the Sharks forum a cheerful and merry holiday season.

Accuphase. Works first time, every time. Love the looks more the longer I have it.

I have a slightly different perspective...[emoji6]

For sure Shunyata!

Also, Pass Labs, Audio Research, VAC, Gryphon and of course, Lumin!

For me, Its BRYSTON.
They consistently produce solid performing gear, back it with probably the best warranty in the industry and provide a level of service that most other manufacturers could learn from.
Hats off to them

In no particular order:

Martin Logan (great products and best customer service in the business).

Bryston (seems to always deliver the goods).

Ortofon (consistently performs above its price).

Esoteric, Legacy Audio, Shunyata, Elrod Power Systems, Cybershaft, REL (not in priority order)

I would add TAD as well; have had their speakers for 1 year as of 2 days ago; it's early but so far so good.

In the old days, Classe Audio also had some of the world's best customer service and great products.

Have to go with the vendors in my sig; Lumin, Pass, Magico, Shunyata. If they disappointed then they wouldn't be there. :)

For me it is Rosso Fiorentino. They are somewhat of an 'acquired taste' in that you have to spend time with them to fully realize what they do. Once you do, its addicting.

The only product of theirs I wasn’t fond of was the BDP2. Otherwise, I love their gear. It’s fantastic

I could also add some more from my rig: Pass, Magico, Vpi and Ortofon.

Rationale:
- Pass continues to please sound and performance-wise
- 3rd Magicos in my system by now, perfect engineering and superb sound
- Vpi works like a charm and products continue to evolve through upgrades
- Ortofon is always a reliable and solid performer, great sound for a fair price

The more I thought about this question I realized that we are pretty fortunate in this hobby that most audio related companies go out of their way not to disappoint their customers, actual or potential. For one reason or another I can remember contacting Wilson, MBL, Transparent, dCS, McIntosh, D'Agostino, Shunyata, and MSB. Never did I come away not thinking their response was less than I expected.

I will put the names of two companies forward who are willing to put themselves our there in these boards and provide real answers and support their products on a regular basis. They are Shunyata and Lumin.

Wilson and Nagra. These two take care of business, no questions asked. There are many companies that should learn from them......

For me, it's been McInstosh; however I only stick with the Amps and Pre-amps, their forte.

Earlier this year, I purchased a pair of Bryston speakers and have been very pleased with the performance. May need to look at more of their stuff in the future

One of the great joys of this hobby IMHO is that the great majority of manufacturers really do their best to do things right. In 35+ years I can really only think of one somewhat-disappointing experience, and it was many years ago. I tend to never sell stuff off; when i upgrade, the older equipment finds a home in my environment, somewhere. As a consequence I have plenty of stuff that's 20-30+ years old. I invariably find the manufacturers to be extremely helpful in case of any issues even with gear they sold in the 80's; would mention David Berning in this context. I have amps from the early years of the Reagan Administration that are still going strong, and David still works on them and even releases updates. Dick Sequerra - needed a tweeter for 30-year old speakers, called him, and had it a few days later. For newer stuff, I echo what folks have said about Shunyata. Also Audio Sensibility - Steve Huang always goes out of his way to do things right and is very available. Last but by no means least: PS Audio, which makes great stuff at fair prices, gives free upgrades via firmware for their DACS, and has a truly honest and open relationship with their customers and even tries to incorporate their concerns and thinking into design processes. Can't ask for more than that.
