Audience Au24se Phono Cable Review

Interesting. I just replaced a pair of generic ic's that I was using as a phono cable and from the phono amp to preamp with Audience Au24e cables yesterday. Quite the coincidence.

I do find the highs to be more extended and more details. The soundstage also seems to be improved with instruments being more separated from each other.

I wonder if a low z phono cable would improve this further? I am going to have to live with this cable for a while to see if I even need to upgrade. It sounds pretty sweet right now. I need to upgrade the cable from the preamp to the amp first, though. I am using a Rocket Fish cable right now (yech). I think I will try a Black Cat Lectraline cable as I need at least a 4m cable (probably custom made).

It might be a little better; what cartridge are you using (don't see it mentioned in your byline)?

Is this cable broken-in? If not, at least try and run it on line level sources before using. I'd also try and keep the phono cable as short as possible.

I am using a Denon DL-103R cartridge. The cables are used so they should be broken in. They are 1m long and are just long enough between my Lenco table and the Jeff Rowland phono amp.

Love my au24se phono cable. I have hi version to match my cartridges.

Well, I upgraded my Audience Au24e ic from the turntable to the phono amp with an Audience Au24 SE low z cable a month ago. I am using a Denon DL-103R MC cartridge. I noticed a decrease in noise floor, increased dynamics and improved soundstage. Not a huge difference but definitely noticeable, so for me it was a worthwhile upgrade. An Audience Au24e cable goes from the phono amp to the preamp and the rest of the cables in the system are Black Cat Lectraline Xe (good bye rocketfish). The speaker cables are Black Cat Silverheart cables and the power cords are Black Cat Dragon Warlord pc on the tube monoblock amps and Marigo Audio Labs Reference on the solid state amp. I think I'm done upgrading for a while, everything seems to be working well together.

I recommend the Audience Au24SE phono cables, they work well for me and may well be the last cable I buy.
