ATC Loudspeakers Factory Tour

Awesome! Thank you. Always loved ATC but never bought them. They need another look from me.

Joe,

The ATC SCM20 is one of the best stand mount speakers I have heard.
I mention this because you were looking for a bookshelf recently - these are ruthlessly transparent.

If you are looking for the truth in a recording these are as good as they come.
Word of caution: They take forever to burn in. Brand new they will make your ears bleed.

If you are ever in England ATC is located in the Cotswolds - one of the most beautiful areas in the country.

Nikhil, aren’t the SCM20’s a rather tough load, what’s your view? I remember having read something.

Very much so. About 85dB for the passive version
But feed them adequate power and they will absolutely shine.
I heard them with Goldmund Telos and it was stunning to say the least.

However their actives might be their best offerings so only a quality preamp needed for that option.

very nearly got a beautiful pair of atc scm40 mark 1 recently . good vfm but another manufacturer won i am afraid . i really should have gone to listen to them but one of two friends put me off

Thanks for that. The ATC SCM 100s were one of my finalists but in the end I preferred more sensitivity and efficiency - terrific speakers though and I bought my Line Magnetic 219IA based on auditions with ATC. I am also considering them for an eventual home theater set-up but that will be a few years off.
