Greetings, (Dealer disclaimer)
The Acoustic Systems International Grand Stereo Amp will be arriving in our studio in about 3-4 weeks. It will be driving the Raidho C1.1's, D1's and D3's. ASI is much more well known in Asia and is very popular with Asian Raidho users. There is an interesting 25 page Raiho speaker thread at Extremeplace.com http://www.xtremeplace.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=119810.0 where users talk about ASI gear and Raidho speakers.
Here is also a recent review from StereoTimes on the ASI Grand Stereo amplifier and the ASI pre.
ASI Grand Stereo amplifier and Liveline Preamplifier
The Grand Stereo utilizes the same chassis as the ASI monos but scales back power to 650 watts into 8 ohms, 1.000 watts into 4 ohms and 1.800 watts into 2 ohms. Its instantaneous peak current delivery is 120A and maximum swing voltage is 75V. Weight is 198 lbs. The Grand Stereo requires two power cords.
The most amazing aspect to me personally is the liquidity of the sound of the ASI electronics, along with the brute force power and control, they are very liquid sounding.
We will also be driving the Raidho speakers with the Absolare electronics, which sound great on the D1's in all respects, including bass control, and will update in a week or two on the sound of the Absolare 845 amps on the D3's (which are arriving either today or tomorrow). A dealer in VA tested the Absolare amps on the C3.1's and was "blown away with the control that they had on the bass", so we will see about the D3's.
Everyone on the AS is ALWAYS welcome to call and set up an appointment to listen with your source material with any equipment that we have in the studio. If you are in or going to be in the city, please come in as we would love to meet you!
