At Clarisys Audio, our commitment to our customers extends far beyond delivery.

We continuously invest in research, precision measurements and long-term product development. Whenever we discover a meaningful improvement that enhances real-world performance, we believe existing owners should benefit from that work as well.

That philosophy is why we are pleased to announce a complimentary performance upgrade for all Aria owners.

The first enhancement focuses on an area that is rarely discussed in our industry, yet has a profound influence on amplifier compatibility and overall system performance: impedance behaviour.

Many manufacturers simply publish a specification such as “Nominal Impedance: 4 Ω.”

In reality, that single number tells only a small part of the story.

What truly matters is how the loudspeaker’s impedance behaves across the entire audible frequency range. A smooth, well-controlled impedance curve places less stress on the amplifier, provides more predictable crossover behaviour and contributes to more effortless musical reproduction.

Following extensive development together with our long-term transformer partner Lundahl Transformers of Sweden, we have further refined the Aria crossover and custom transformer implementation. The result is a significantly more amplifier-friendly impedance characteristic while preserving the speed, transparency and dynamics that define the Aria.

The custom Lundahl transformers used in the Aria are manufactured exclusively for Clarisys Audio:

CLA0021 – Custom Midrange Transformer
CLA0042 – Custom Tweeter Transformer

These are purpose-built designs developed specifically for our ribbon drivers and are not standard catalogue parts.

Clarisys Audio also remains one of the very few manufacturers producing true free-standing aluminium ribbon loudspeakers. Our ribbons contain no Mylar substrate, no Kapton substrate and no sandwich construction. Achieving stable amplifier behaviour with such low-mass ribbon elements requires significantly more engineering effort, but we believe the sonic rewards are worth it.

We believe engineering is at its best when it is measurable, transparent and continuously refined. Rather than publishing only a nominal impedance figure, we are pleased to share the complete measured impedance response with our customers and the audio community.

This is only the first of several enhancements that Aria owners can look forward to.

Thank you!

Our customers get new crossovers; new backplate, added transformers and new wiring :-)
Maybe some other companies, including those I own, should follow your lead.

My perspective on the "high-end" is exponentially deteriorating with every show demonstrating new upgrades and new products to replace/supplant products that they have yet to even deliver: WADAX comes to mind on the latter.

In today's world, with most equipment being extremely capable, I would argue, policies like yours are more important than ever, to ensure those of us who purchase, have products that won't cost us an arm and a leg to stay current. From my perch, this is now first on my list of preferences for any future purchases.

Thank you Joe! I appreciate it a lot.

You know, unless you change the physical properties of the speaker; an optimization such as in a crossover; should be free if a company finds a way to improve it. For the current price of the products, the cost of these crossovers is the least of concern.

Because our ribbons are so linear and have no relevant breakup distortions, the crosover is actually super simple. I have developed our own crossover simulator and parts library, so i know based on the version, what was installed in the speakers. As the company continues to grow, i have developed our order system, new website, design tools etc...

At our hearts, we are engineers and not marketing folks. We love to push our vision forward! With simplicity, electrically and over the top in mechanical engineering.

Cheers

Flo

As I said.

What you are doing should be a model for others.

Unfortunately, as we know, that isn’t the case and “crossover upgrades” at exorbitant $ often to be done by the end-user at his/her own peril is the rule.

Once again kudos
