App debug data

Paul

Is your issue also with an iPhone? I have never had an issue with either a regular iPad or a Mini. If on the later try completely deleting the app and reload it fresh from the App store. Maybe it got corrupted during one of the recent upgrades.

I use on IPhone and IPad as well. Both crushes quiet often.

With all the recent updates to IOS and the Lumin apps try wiping them Lumin apps out and starting over. I had to do that with the latest upgrade and start with a clean slate. It has it's own "quirks" but so do the apps I have used from Auralic and OPPO.

I just don't get it, while some of us don't have these crashes and others devices are crashing all the time. All week I've streamed music on my D1 controlled by my Ipad (not on os11) and the only time it was down is when I loaded the beta firmware from Peter for the filter and its playing music now and I've yet to have a crash. What are we doing different, could it be our internet providers , the router(s) we are using, the network as a whole in a persons area. I'm using Spectrum and their ARIS modem providing 60 Mbps, and I'm running Netgear routers to my gear. so far , so good.

Paul I am in the same boat. I have a rock solid internet connection (hard wired) and generally no connectivity issues elsewhere. Brand new U1 and very regular issues with skipping songs, app disconnecting/crashing from U1, having to power down and up the U1 etc.

Love the sound but I am really hoping this gets more stable. Not tolerable at moment.

App crashes do not cause the U1 to skip music. It is abnormal to have to power down the U1 regularly. When the U1 is having issues, does the U1 network LED flash? Does the corresponding network port LED flash? Have you power cycled the router and the switches (normal internet access is different from Lumin network access because of UPnP and broadcasts)? Where are your music located - NAS or Tidal or USB drive? If NAS, please try using USB flash drive instead, and see if the U1 still skip music.

Also to ad to what Peter said if these crashes are with Tidal you guys in the NE may be seeing what some of us in other areas saw during the Summer with Tidal's content servers being overloaded especially during the evening hours. Went on here for about four months and then cleared up and has been good for the last couple of months. As a regular measure I power cycle the router and the Lumin every time there is a firmware update. Only takes a few minutes.

I will try power cycling my router.

I have issues with skipping with both Tidal and my NAS.

I have used Tidal for over a year before this and never had a single issue with it. This is most definitely not an issue with Tidal being overloaded for me.

Thanks for the feedback all. I will try what has been suggested and see if I have any luck. I just want to get to the bottom of this, very frustrated!

My Tidal was flawless from March 2016 until the middle of June 2017 and then it wasn't. The issues happened with four different streamers from three different companies and three different apps. In addition multiple routers and Xfinity gateways. Nothing changed even with trying both of the so called "open" DNS settings with wired and wireless connections. It just stopped acting up on it's own after Tidal reluctantly admitted they had some problems. For the last two months it has been fine again so don't count them out of the equation.

Ok thanks Jack.

But... that doesn’t explain my issue with the same thing happening when I play off my NAS through Lumin.

I have some homework to do to try to diagnose this, I guess

Only other thing I might try if you haven't is to delete the Lumin app completely from your control devices, recycle them power wise and then re-install the current version of the app clean from the app store. Good luck with your diagnostic attempts.

Are people still having issues with the Lumin app crashing with the latest iOS on the iPad?

I am still experiencing app crashes... not as often as before but it still crashes. I have sent the log files to Lumin support.

iOS - 11.2.1
Lumin App - 6.1.0
Lumin A1 Firmware - 10.1af

Not sure I want to go to the new iOS on my Ipad with the bugs it has. :afraid:,maybe iOS 11.2 fixes most. My iphone 7 had to go to the Apple store in Jacksonville to take it back to 10. Battery drain and it got hot..Never had a crash but I don't use my iphone to access Lumin, I use one of my iPads.

With a brand new u1 I have only had crashing issues so far.

Just to inject a little positivity into the chatter, can I just add that I think the sound is amazing, well beyond what I expected. I love love love the sound.

I am just hoping the regular crashing gets fixed so I can start enjoying it.
