App debug data

Great. Thank you. I wish Apple would be consistent over devices since the OS is supposed to be the same. Anyway, it looks like it should be an easy fix. Of course, I have no idea what this means. :)

I received an email from Lumin acknowledging the app debug data, and saying they are looking into it. Hopefully, the next app update will have a fix. While it doesn’t crash constantly, it does enough to be annoying. Of course, finding software issues is what I do for a living, and it pays for my stereo gear. :)

Thanks to everyone for your patience and log files.

We have just submitted a Lumin app update to App Store, hopefully fixing the iOS 11 crash. iPhone X support is added as well.

Owing to iOS restrictions, we are forced to drop support for pre-iOS 8 devices, e.g. iPhone 4 and older, iPad 1, etc.

I am assuming I am dealing with the same issue as others here.

I have a brand new U1. 48 hours old. Generally have excellent WiFi in house, including basement where system is.

I did upgrade to iOS 11 on my phone and 1 year old iPad just 2 days ago.

I am getting very regular dropouts of connectivity where the Lumin app basically greys out and the connection is lost. But my WiFi is still fine and I can connect on iPad to internet, etc.

Each time this happens, if I power off U1 and reboot the connection and app work fine again. Maybe on average this is happening every hour or so of listening to music. Just closing out the app itself doesn’t work. I need to restart the U1 to be back.

I am hoping that the Lumin app update fixes this? It is rather annoying rebooting every hour.

On a positive, the sound is fantastic and if this glitch can get fixed I will be one happy camper. Just kind of a tough way to start out with a new, exciting toy.

Do you have a hard-wired ethernet connection or are you using an extender/access point? If the later you may want to tweak the settings on it.

I have a hard wired Ethernet connection to the U1.

Odd the only couple of times I have had the issue it involved the communication between the extender and the router otherwise the Lumin app has shown no problems with either the iPad or even on the iPod touch which is the same app as the iPhone.

I have a hard wired Ethernet connection to the U1.

One test to run is to get the IP address assigned to your Lumin U1 and run a continuous ping of the U1 from another workstation on the same network. Are you running DHCP or manually assigning IP addresses for devices on your network?

If killing the app and rebooting the iPad does not fix the problem, it's probably not an app problem.

The next time this appears, please observe whether the Lumin front panel says Network Error, and inspect that both the Lumin U1 network port LED and the LED at your WiFi router flash.

If they flash normally, you need to power off the Lumin U1 and the iPad, then power cycle your WiFi router, and all network switches (if any). Wait for 5 minutes, then power up the Lumin U1 and iPad.

After that go into router settings and reserve an IP address for the Lumin U1. While you're doing that, reserve its current IP address for the NAS as well.

Also check the router settings and make sure it's not doing anything to filter the broadcast and multicast packets.

If they do NOT flash normally, then there is hardware-level issue. Use a different network cable and connect the Lumin U1 to a different network port in the WiFi router.

Lumin app 6.1.0 has been released and has resolved the Lumin app crashing issue for me.

Bad news, good news.

App still crashes on iPhone 7 after upgrade. However, it doesn’t seem to crash as often. Progress, a step at a time. :)

Log sent to Lumin.

I have same experience. Definitely better. Definitely still crashes.

I sent the log data to Lumin, and received an email not long ago that they are looking into it. If we all work together here we can get it stabilized. They just need our log files.

I wonder if others are having different experiences than me with this. I still get very regular crashes. And skipping over a track to the next one somewhat often. Are others still having issues with iOS app?

Send them the log file. It appears my crash occurs on a song change, and I usually play with random shuffle on.

I wish the Lumin app is more stable. I love the sounds but this app crash is drive me nuts.

Is your issue also with an iPhone? I have never had an issue with either a regular iPad or a Mini. If on the later try completely deleting the app and reload it fresh from the App store. Maybe it got corrupted during one of the recent upgrades.
