I've been using a Bluesound Node 2 to stream Tidal HiFi and MQA but was wondering if anyone knew of a better product for the job. I see McIntosh has a MB50 but I haven't read great reviews on that unit and I don't like the fact that I can't run it CAT5 to my network.... any help is much appreciated!

The Aurenders do a good job. Just pick one.

The Blue Node works well for me. Much better than the more expensive Auralic Aries.....can you do better?.....of course , but at a price.

Cheers....

Depends on your budget

Hello
It all depends on your output
If you need USB output , then Aurender n100h is a better option
If you need AES or SPDIF , then Auralic is great value for money
Cheers

Thank you all for the responses... I'm still kicking it around but leaning toward the N100H. If I could find something in my price range that offered a better built in DAC then my MAC6700 I would probably go that way

So the plot thickens.... I was calling my dealer today to order a Aurender N100H and my salesman asked me why I wasn't interested in the McIntosh MB50. So I explained to him I was looking for something with a hard wired Ethernet connection. He explained that's actually not the case. I can use a USB to Ethernet connector and it'll work. He also asked me to look into the Lumin D1. So the dealer where I bought my MAC6700 is also a Aurender, Lumin, and Aurelic dealer. So I'm still unsure. I'd love to do the MB 50 just to match my integrated, but that's not what it's all about...

I would stick with the companies that do their own digital for a living and McIntosh is not one of those companies. If you just want to stream Tidal and think MQA is important then stick with what you called to order in the first place. Lumin has MQA coming shortly and Auralic, who was the original MQA partner, has their own version. And they all specialize in streaming and not anything else. My 2 cents.

Thank you for the response.... pretty much exactly what I was thinking.

If you stick with the products that made McIntosh a legend, straight amps and Line Level preamps plus integrated amps, you are good. Their ventures into technologies outside their traditional expertise are hit or miss at best. The new ownership group apparently thinks buying outside technology and putting it in a Mc case makes things all good. If you search the web you will see how that is working out for them.
