Anyone paired the Gryphon Diablo 300 with Magico S3Mk2?

I know it sounds good, no make that great, with the A3s and left me wanting for almost nothing but possibly more scale. Sadly, the A3s are gone and I'm lining up my next pair of speakers and wondering what the S3Mk2 may add to what I was hearing with the A3.
TIA

Have you ordered you S3 mk2’s or just curious?

Maybe Khin could chip in, or Larry. In case I’m not mistaken they have both had that setup, or still have it.

As far as I have understood it’s superb.

Just curious but close to making a decision

What else are you looking at?
How big is your room?
Have you identified the qualities you most desire in a speaker?
And why haven’t you visited me in Florida? [emoji41]

[h=2]"Anyone paired the Gryphon Diablo 300 with Magico S3Mk2?"[/h]Yes. Excellent. I play mostly classical and jazz in a small/medium room. I've heard the A3s at my dealers. IMO the S3 Mk2s are a big step up. That said, talk to Mike.

I have a Diablo 300 and it worked great with Raidho and seems to also be working good with some Magico M2s. The M2s are just getting broken in, but so far, the Diablo is doing good!

That Diablo is a "devil" of an amp. :yahoo1:

Diablo/M2 is on the agenda today.

The AQ spades were too big for the Diablo terminals, so put back in the MIT 2C3D. Man, forgot how good these speaker cables are with Magico. Perfection! Dynamic, beautiful mids and engaging.

Mine is original S3s with Diablo 300, not S3 mk2. Let’s just say I don’t have a desire to upgrade to S3 mk2, for now at least. In other words, they are synergistic.

Also, as Mike mentioned, MIT deserves consideration. I use EVO One SC and IC.

Was ready to go for M2 a couple months ago then lost my hearing almost completely due to a particularly nasty double ear infection that is just clearing up now almost 12 weeks later. Not back to 100% quite yet but certainly chomping at the bit especially as the kiddies are off at college now and working out of the house is just not the same without tunes. I've considered M2, S7, S5, S3 and possibly another pair of A3s. Would love to get down to your place and check things out for sure - just started a new job after selling my company and due to the infection have spent a lot of time driving out to the midwest headquarters of the new company due to not being able to be on an airplane due to the ears. Additional travel might be tough for me right now but am getting better I think (other than jumping off the boat last week on Cape Cod and getting a little water back into the middle ears).

I have a few potential rooms so am not caught up on room size for now but the intended room is 16x17 with 20 foot ceilings but totally opens up to the kitchen behind it which is roughly 19x13 so I'd say 29x17x20 which is a fairly open space with asymmetrical ceiling slope from lower right to 20 foot left and up into the upstairs 3 open windows into the back upstairs hallway as well as open into the rest of the house including my office.

With the A3s there was a very good dimensional stage but quite a bit of slap echo. It's an untreated space in a house new to me so I'm still familiarizing myself with the acoustics. I got surprisingly solid bass with the A3s and just lacked in image size and scale as well as maybe a little top end extension compared to s3s.

That being said, I had asked you for a YouTube M2 Diablo YouTube video before I lost my hearing, LOL!

Congrats on selling the company. Sorry to hear about the ear infection! That’s no fun!!

Come down when you can. We can listen to a lot of things. The A’s, the S’s and the M’s!

I've got a buddy who has MIT with Magicos and it's a great combo I agree wholeheartedly. I've committed to Synergistic Research Galileos at this point but they are just sitting in boxes right now.

GSOPhile - Interesting. I'm more like a small room as far as being able to pull the speakers out into the room. I'm limited due to traffic flow into the rest of the house to allow people to walk by the left most speaker so max about 2.5-3 feet from the back wall which is going to limit placement options. The A3s were super easy to place but the S3 may be a different story.

IMO Magico sealed cabinet speakers are less sensitive to placement/room boundaries than ported designs. And that goes for the S3 Mk2s. Mine are presently 52" from the back wall (tweeter to wall) within a total back wall to front wall distance of about 15'. I could have located them closer to the back wall, but I'm not constrained in this regard, and the extra distance seems to have improved bass consistency somewhat.

Any thoughts on pairing the Magico S3Mk2 with FM Acoustics FM108 amps? Would it be able to drive the S3Mk2 comfortably?

I'm an imaging nut first and foremost and always have found that approximate distance from the back wall to be about perfect for getting Magico speakers "boxes" to disappear best and throw a more 3D stage. I've also found they do better sitting on more solid (e.g. concrete) floors in a perfectly rectangular space along the long wall for best (i.e. wraparound) imaging. Seriously considering building out a dedicated room in the basement for this reason.
