Just curious if anybody is into high performance boats. I no longer own one but I used to own
a 24' Douglas Skater with twin 2.5 Merc outboards. Offshore catamaran, 600 hp, 2650 lbs.
top speed 108 mph. I've owned a lot of high speed toys but nothing comes close to the thrill of
flying across the top of waves at 100 MPH. Wish I had a pic to post but that was 1995, nothing digital then.

Well, my boat is probably not what you're talking about, but it will run 80mph on GPS !

Gambler 2200 Bass boat, 250HP Mercury Racing outboard.

Too rich for my blood but friggin cool, fast boats.

I used to do fast bikes much more affordable, but my wife put an end to that, probably for the better.

No, bass boats are awesome! 80 mph is more than fast enough.

Years ago my cousin was a tech rep for Mercury Marine. We would always take a bass boat to bass tourneys just for the shotgun starts. Never fished.
We would take a 21' Ranger and throw on a modded 200hp Merc, about 275 hp. But we would put a 150hp cowl on it.
The Yamaha and Evinrude boys could never understand why our boat was so much faster.

I love fast bikes as well. I'm just shopping for a new street bike. Narrowed it down to Aprilia Tuorno, Ducati Multistrada,
or KTM 1290 Superduke.

Ha, ha. I'm not talking about a day. I'm talking about about a few minutes of absolute adrenaline rush. If your'e not a speed guy
you will never understand.
Come on tell us your story, don't leave us hanging.

I don't know anyone with a speedboat, but I have had several friends with big sailboats and cabin cruisers all my life.

B O R I N G.

Sitting, drinking, talking and getting sunburned all day while captive on a boat is not my idea of a good time.

Really? Nobody ever had an experience in a fast boat? Girls in bikinis love fast boats!:exciting:

How about fast girls in boats taking off their bikinis?

When we were teenagers (long ago and nobody needed any licenses then) going out on the boat alone with our girlfriends (usually 2 couples) was great going below deck in the cabins. They were opportunities for wild sex that would be felonies in 48 states but I don't need a boat for that anymore.

Mark, I had a 96 Gambler Intimidator w/200 Merc XRi Black Max and I do remember it goes from idle to "ohhhhhhh my gosh" in a split second.

Today it's Dorado 16' Kayak's , for low and slow fishing :snicker:
