How are a "few ounces of gold" going to hold you up if/when SHTF? You also could use some thicker skin and sense of humor. You might need that in your bunker.

I have a thick skin and a sense of humor already, but your underhanded digs are not good humor and you know it. And you failed to read above that I don't plan on having a bunker, try to catch up.

A SHTF moment doesn't have to be a world wide meltdown.

Living in a large earthquake subduction zone, the people in our little community we live in, all have all kinds of survival items - including water, food, medical supplies, ammo, cash, satellite phones etc because according to the experts if the big one hits, it could easily be months before we have anybody outside to help us. Supposedly all the tunnels, bridges will be destroyed. We just aren't big enough to get attention with millions of people affected from N Cali to Vancouver Canada.

It's not expensive to be prepared - we've spent less than a speaker cable to put things in perspective.

... and people with much more knowledge and information than us have priced their expectations into the investment. It's not my game, but someone is making a bet in this market as I type.
*What little I do know, much of this commercial office debt will be due and refinanced in the next 3-5 years. Some big city occupancy is 50-60%. So yes, it likely will be a distressed asset play, on the whole.
