Anyone have experience with AVM - Audio Video Manufaktur?

Music Direct is now selling this line from Germany. Some nice looking gear. The Integrateds are like a LIO where they provide 3 slots for add-on boards. The pricing is also reasonable for the power and features.

Kuoppis has some exposure to them. Hopefully he will chime in. I heard AVM at Munich. I didn't get much of an impression unfortunately. Looks nice, well built. Sonically, maybe a little sterile? Don't know.

I have indeed heard AVM on a couple of occasions. Some of their top amps like the AVM MA8 and SA8 have also earned high praise from reviewers.

My latest opportunity was listening to their streaming receivers some time back, I think it was the Evolution line SD 3.2 and SD 5.2. Those did not do anything wrong, but were not entirely my cup of tea. Reason was that I like quite punchy amps and they were softer in their attack than what I prefer.

What was interesting though, was that I liked the tonality of the smaller version better. It was kind of fuller and darker, while the larger one was more a typical SS sound.

The good thing however is that even their top line amps do not cost a bomb.

Heard them in Munich and also back in the UK with Vivid speakers. Both times not impressed - sounded dull in Munich, and heavy / overly dense with Vivid.
