Hello to all...

Have been considering replacing the hardwired powercord on my JVC QL-A7; anyone have experience using the Clearview Double Helix AC
Cord kits instead of having a IEC jack hardwired in?

AND was wondering if anyone has ever replaced the hardwired interconnects coming from the TT - the "veins" of the turntable...

Any experiences or thoughts would be appreciated... Thanks for any comments.

Bill,

I cant speak to the power cord and truly, it is possibly a waste of money. The AC power only drives the platter, no direct connect to the signal chain so "clean power" would be pointless. Always up to you though.

For the IC's, yes, changing should not be that hard. You should get the service manual however; opening up the unit should net this

The very tiny arm wires will go to SOME connection. From there, the sturdier IC's would be soldered in the same or adjacent space which is what you would change. some people (and tables) go straight from arm wires to the IC's however; you have to be sure of having a very solid anchor point or they would get pulled loose easily.

Open her up, show us some pictures...LOL

BTW..I just checked

1) The service manual is AWESOME - great table
2) Changing the IC's for better ones is EASY !!!
