I’m particularly interested in 680 or 880 speaker cables and how they compare to Nordost Frey2/Tyr2.
Will be used between a Gryphon Diablo 300 and Magnepan 3.7X.

I owned both 680 and 880's though I did not directly compare to the Nordost you mention. The Siltech's will give you a nice open sound without sounding harsh.

I have since moved on from Siltech.

Thanks. What was the bass like? Was the difference between 680 and 880 big enough to justify the much higher price of the 880?
With Magnepans you don’t want cables on the lean side of neutral. What did you move on to?

There was a difference in the perceived "air". Without knowing the rest of your system, I personally didn't think it was worth the difference. I think you'd be much happier with the Siltech 680 than the Nordost based on what I've heard of Nordost.

I moved on and now have a mix of Stealth and Signol Projects. The Signal Projects are a more meaty sound than the Stealth, and both IMO is noticeably better than any Siltech (in the higher levels - I have not tried the lower level Siltech's).

As always the disclaimer this is my personal opinion in my room with my gear so it's always a variable what others hear/like.

You can PM if you'd like - happy to share more with you.

I used Siltech MXT Pro New Yorker series with some Conrad Johnson gear. Probably more entry level compared to what most use around hear. In general I noticed Siltech projects a larger sound stage than those compred to. Bass was good. Nothing in the sound over emphasized. I enjoyed it and thought they were overachievers.

I would encourage purchase with return option. The dealer gave me a good deal on a higher level Siltech speaker cable, I already had the New Yorker interconnects. The higher level had good mids and highs but not much bass. Maybe some type of impedance mismatch or something. Not at all like same as I had but better, more like what is this. I sent them back and bought the matching New Yorker which sounded like it was meant to be there..

Have you ever looked at the Clarus Crimson? I suspect it maybe a good match with Maggies. Good bass, darker background and sparkle to the top end, not in a fatiguing way, smooth and present.

I don't know if Siltech still does this I loved how you could unscrew the terminal and just switch from banana to spade or vice versa.
