You may have liked their previous Tower the T3 that I sold to a friend. They had a flat frequency response and while they had great bass and detail, I found them boring. They were not a good match for the Pass X250 amp and my dac. Stereophile and TAS gave them glowing reviews comparing them to speakers costing $25,000. Their fit and finish was comparable but the sound was not. I wish they had worked out because they were fabulous with acoustic music, strings and drums.
I have had a pair of Spatial Audio Turbo's, PSB Synchrony Ones and the T3's and none of them could displace my Maggie's. These other speakers did some things better but when you looked at the big picture they did not sound as good. And all my local audiophile friends agreed.
I should have bought a pair of the Fyne Audio 702 when I had the chance.
I have not heard the PSB new line of speakers but I had read somewhere that they voiced them different to be more musical. The previous line did not sell well and I heard this from a PSB dealer.
Paul Barton sold his company to Lenbrook. He is a consultant.
