Any decent complete looms (LS, IC, Power) you are aware of, which do not require a remortgage, to replace WyWires P

I am thinking of looking into new cables for my system, but am so far undecided as PAD 25th/ 30th Anniversary, Siltech Princess, Crystal Cable Absolute Dream are nice, but would get me a the equivalent of a new car.

Any ideas?

As the headline broke up: Replacement for WyWires Platinum LS + IC cables...

Thanks Mike, they look interesting and they are very decently priced. Do you think they would improve my system compared to the WyWires Platinums?

I do have Shunyata power cables, but have not tried the signal cables yet - what would you recommend? Have heard good things about WireWorld as well, what would you recommend from their line-up?

Anyone experience with Ansuz cables? Or do they only harmonize with Raidhos...

I know at least two guys who are using ansuz cables with Wilson Audio speakers and they are extremely happy with ansuz cables.

I personally use the Silver Eclipse/Electra cables for interconnects and power Gold for digital and have one set of Platinum interconnects from WW. The Silver, Gold & Platinum levels are all very good. As you move up you keep getting added macro/micro detail and overall I've noticed that you have a more open cleaner sounding soundstage.

One of my good friends upgraded his whole loom from Purist Audio Dominus to WW Platinum for interconnects & digital cables and Silver Eclipse/Electra for speaker & power cables. I was at his house the day he swapped every cable over to the WW. It was amazing the difference we heard without the cables even being broken in yet. He changes his gear out a lot but said he'll never change the cables unless he moves up to Platinum for speaker & power cables.

Shunyata I've only heard good things about. Personally I've only ever heard their older power cords and they were very good. One day I would like to try some of their newer ones. I've heard good things about Siltech & Crystal cables also. If there are some local dealers near you then you need to see if you can demo a few of these brands in your system and go with what you like best. You can't go wrong with the level of cables you're looking at. I'll always recommend WW only because I've used them for 15+ years and have a brand loyalty to them since I've never had any issues with their products. Also, I like that they patent their designs and show you their theory on their website. It's not a guessing game and they don't hide it from you.

Hope this helps,
Matt

If you're happy with WyWires (as am I), why change. Talking with Alex is always a pleasure fyi - great guy.

Agree with everything you say. It's just that a friend is currently driving me a bit crazy with his cables [emoji51]. Need to check whether his claims can be verified.

I use all Clarus Crimson in my 2-channel rig but a complete loom may again cost more than you are looking to spend. Actually, the interconnects/XLR's aren't so bad but the speaker cables are costly. Power cords reasonable as well, comparatively. Interesting to my experience with Clarus, first listen I wasn't really turned on, so passed, however, the power cords were great so I started with them. I auditioned 2 sets of XLR's after that and noticed with more Clarus in my system the results improved, I completed the Loom and have been happy with the result.

If I didn't have Clarus, Analysis Plus would be on my list, Crystal Oval. A+ to me is very natural sounding.

Before the Clarus I was using Anticable and liked it a lot. I lent mine to friends before, it does seem system dependent, sometimes sounding thin. I used the silver Reference, except in speaker cables, the sound just has a purity to it I really enjoyed. Not much if you want audio jewelry though :)

Good idea as mentioned to try to audition, borrow, buy with return, because as you probably already know, many cable brand's synergy varies per system.

Agree with Peabody, I would highly recommend auditioning Clarus Crimmson cables. The more you have in your loom the better. My System has the complete Crimmson loom except for the Cd player I prefer the Trye 1 interconnect.

Hi Kevin, thanks for your response, it's good to know you had the same experience with the Crimson.

Crystal Cable is amazing. The full loom provides a major upgrade. On par or more than a component upgrade.

Any particular series you are can recommend? I think the Absolute Dream would be nice, but those are kind of in the remortgage category I think..

I think the Dreamline Plus (mono crystal) is nice. It uses half of the conductor of the Absolute Dream. About 80% of the performance for 55% of the price. The lower tier, Diamond, series uses silver/gold.
