I've decided to buy another pair of speakers. Almost everyone here has more than one pair so why not me.

I've decided on the Nola Boxer II. The model II has a completely redesigned mid-woofer and the same 1 inch silk dome tweeter. I'm going to get the piano gloss cherry. The speakers are 15 inches tall and will sit on specially made Sound Anchor three post stands that are 26 inches high bringing the tweeter to just about ear level.

Everyone knows Carl Marchisotto's passion for speaker design dating back to his time designing for Dahlquist. I expect great things from these speakers especially in the mids and highs. I have a thing for soft dome tweeters as they put out a nice warm non-harsh sound which is very easy on my ears.

If you read the reviews in TAS, Positive Feedback, Stereomojo, Stereophile and Hi-Fi+ you'll see that nothing bad was said.

Now here comes the best part, the price:
With the newly designed mid-woofer the price increased from $1500.00 to $1700.00 +$615.00 for the Sound Anchor stands bringing the total to $2315.00. I'll be getting the speakers and stands for $1790.00 + tax and shipping:exciting::exciting:

I won't name the dealer but will say that they are in New York State down in Joe's neck of the woods. Who knows, I may end up selling my Harbeth SHL5's(NOT!!!!!!!!!)

Congrats!!! Nola's are terrific musical speakers.

I hope your dealer has those speakers in stock.

Way to go Toobs,

As a Mini-Monitor sort since my beginnings in 1982, there's something about the manner in which that do that disappearing act, I've become very addicted too, and having heard their earlier Alon Petites ( which was the first American design that caused me to get over my British speaker fetish ) I can only imagine these as being just as magical.

But I've one heads up for you.........., if you can swing it?, pursue the Sound Anchors 3 Post Monitor Signature version with a vengeance, talk about massively constructed and being properly damped, with said speaker types as these, the stands made all the difference in the world - o_oh, and lets not forget to add Herbie's Audio Lab - Big Fat Dots as speaker to stand interfacing devices, at which point............., call it a wrap.

Enjoy.

Thank you. The signature series Sound Anchors are not part of the package deal. I would end up paying full price for them.

Toobs,

Your welcome, and I understand, but please, please look into those Herbie's Fat Dots if nothing else, you just might come away quite surprised with the results.

Here's my proof, on said matters, granted the system has changed somewhat, but you'll get the ideal:

Once again, great choice in my mind.

Bob...congrats on your Nola Boxers. Now if you can only sub our your C2200 and MC275 and get the ARC VSi75 to replace them, you will see the synergy between ARC and Nola (and your Harbeths) will be quite nice.

Toobs,

I'm merely wondering if the deal on the Boxers and Sound Anchors come through?, as I've love to hear your in depth impression......., as I was being exposed to a friend of mines Alon Petites back in 2008, that finally caused me to realize there was in fact more to life then the LS 3/5A and ProAc Tablette types which I began this hobby with in 1982, and after said exposure, a pair of Devore Fidelity Gibbon 3s enhanced my life for all of 4 years, until I went full circle to a pair of Mini-Minitors heard at a doctors friends home in '94, that stayed with me since in a pair of Totem Model Ones, which then lead to a pair of their 20th Anniversary Edition versions simply called The One ( to which I don't see replacing at all ) yet a pair of Devore Gibbon 3XLs, are something I crave in the back of my mind as well.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to your update, whenever you've the time?.

And, above all........, here's wishing you as well as everyone else here a safe and joyous Turkey Day, and Seasons Greetings all around.

The Nola's have been put on the back burner for now. I have other more important things on my mind right now.

Respect..........., dude handle your business, priorities are more important after all, and this stuff isn't going anywhere, as quiet as it's kept.

Peace.
