And that's why I drive a truck

So I called my Doctor first thing. They said, "we won't touch auto accidents". I asked why and they said "that means third party claims and we won't do third party claims." They told me to go to the county clinic.
So I call the insurance company to get a referral. They said "we need a day or two to get the claim processed."

Now I know why people call the ambulance chasers first thing. Such BS.

If an ambulance chaser came to my door I'd probably run him over.

Mike......How about an update. How are you feeling? How's that neck and back responding after a few days to discover what aches? How much damage was actually done to the Platinum F-150?

Thanks for asking. I've had three visits to the Chiropractor, steady Aleeve and rest (skipped hockey this week). Feeling much better today.

The truck bumper is down about two inches and the guy drove right into my heavy duty towing package and damn it, he scratched my trailer hitch. LOL. Otherwise, it's fine.

Oh, and the bastards insurance expired over a year ago.

It is quite typical - the car that hit you 'dived' under breaking. You don't need a truck to cause such an extensive damage.

Hi Mike = I just saw this thread and I echo-o-o-o the strong sentiment expressed on AS, namely, that you are OK! My worst fear around an "accident," given my recent deep dive down the audio rabbit hole, would be hearing loss. Yikes! Here's to a thorough and as quickly as possible recovery. And thanks, again, for making it possible for a Vitus amp take up residence in our home. Shindo + Vitus + Raidho = Sonic Dreamland!

Glad to hear you are okay, that is the main thing.

I had an accident a few years ago like that. I was in my 1986 F150 just making a turn into a 7-11 and I got rear ended by Honda civic. She hit the left corner of my bumper, pushing it down and put a dent in my tail gate. Her car was totalled and she had to get out of the passenger side. She said she slid for half a block before she hit me (it was icy at the time) and hit a second car before coming to a stop. I had studded winter tires with sand bags in the back for extra weight.

She hit me hard enough to send me over the sidewalk curb into the parking lot, 180 degrees around. Yet I was blamed 100 % for cutting her off and was told that I was a country yokel not used to driving in the city (I live in a small town) by the insurance adjuster. Yee-haw. Hopefully your insurance isn't as crazy.

Mike, glad you are ok... definitely make sure your neck is ok. A jerk girl, texting, ran into our daughter in law sitting at a red light a couple years ago now. She is still dealing with back issues :(... the asswipe girl claimed she wasn't texting but was just leaning down to pick her phone up off the floor.... hmmm, how did she drop it if she wasn't using it... dumb as dirt....

I like the way German cars give up themselves to protect you.

A field worker who had never driven a car before was sold an old SUV the night before and he ran straight into me on way to work at 6:30 the next morning.... thank God for German engineering! This was two years ago... glad to say no long term injuries!

And yes the idiot car dealer sold him a car even though he had no documentation and no driver's license.... I guess they liked taking his cash....

I prefer the Volvo approach. Built like a tank.

I replaced the car with what I consider the best of both worlds :)... German engineering and built like a tank... I picked up a Benz... wife liked it so much that we traded her BMW SUV for a Mercedes SUV :)...
