Hi!
I'm gonna make a very strange, absurd, bizarre, irresponsible, inappropriate, extreme, perhaps stupid, and in any case wrapped in the empirical world of improving audiophilia, certainly good for the seller(s), but...
Which FUSE should I buy? (It's very difficolut to read the spec. of the original one)
Thanks.

:einstein:

If you're asking the spec of the original fuse, it'd be 2A fast blow for U1 MINI and most Lumin models, with some exceptions (like M1).

Which brand and model of fuse are you going with? Don't forget to report results back... :)

Ah! The U1 mini IS a transport only, no DAC inside!
But... have you some experiences to share with us? It seems... yes :)

I use an X1 as a transport ( USB audio output ). I always think fuses make a bigger improvement with analogue devices, so I didn't expect my transport X1 can gain such an improvement with a change in fuse. :)

Which fuse(s) have you tried?

They are expensive, but Audio Magic are in another league of all the others!

Here in EU the only it seems to be the HIFI TUNING, the German brand
I will “report” but after the 20th of July.

Well, like a programmed machine here I am
HIFI Tuning (German brand) is inside the Lumin. As you can imagine, I can not “switch” from original to tuning, so what I’m writing is always after a while... playing from “A” to “B”.
I confess that I feel (it was listen) more “relaxed” with the HFT and that’s because more “space” in front of me (horizontal) and micro-details are “more”.
When I came “back” I was listening to (not feeling) a “warmer” but “closer” scene.
You have to know that the DAC its the same and cables are the same too; I am using a QNAP NAS so, I think “there” should be another improvement with a “Melco” I guess but now, anyway, the physical CD is behind.
Do not ask me why or how is it possible because it’s OFF TOPIC

Thank you for reading and goodbye!

If I may, one last warning: try another brand.

Ain't gonna happened here, thanks for your advice! :hey:
There are many reasons, let me write just a couple:

a) these "improvements" like you can read from my last post are... in a circle where listening and (moment) feelings are closer, even so I am sure about them. So, better for me, for my sys, to look for other upgrade like... changing NAS and search a "silentSSD-Melco" for example.
b) in EU, the HIFI Tuning its something about "the only one fuse Company" that have in stock a fuse compatible with Lumin U1 mini".
c) Why?

Have a good time!

A couple of points to ponder: If your machine is blowing fuses, then I suggest not installing replacement fuses at $150 USD a pop for troubleshooting purposes as that could get expensive.

Also, it is inadvisable to wrap a failed fuse in aluminum foil and reinstall it to see if you can get the device to work. (Been there. Done that.)

Fortunally nobody has menitoned about "blowing fuses" here!
Me, not. :whew:

"Popping" fuses my be more suitable. That being said, a popped fuse is not necessarily an indication a bad piece of equipment. The protective elements in fuses run near their nominal current value can, over time, begin a slow "walk" to failure.

Be it in cables, be it in fuses, whatever, i stay away from rhodium and silver.
Only copper and gold finish.

So it would be a 2A fast blow in my U1...assuming it's like most Lumins? And a dumber question, where is that fuse in my U1?
