"American Pie" was the name given the plane that Buddy Holly went down in.
*I have listened to the words to American Pie for many years and I thought I understood everything that was being sung.
However, when the words are put together with pictures and film clips the song takes on a new meaning.

It took a lot of thought and work to produce this video. It certainly brings back memories.


 
Dan, that was great. Lots of memories - good and bad, too. Don McLean and I are the same age.

It really puts the song in perspective. I wonder how long it took Don McLean to write it.
 
Even thought McLean sold the original working manuscript at auction in 2015 he still refuses to confirm or explain every line in this important song.

I do like the video Dan posted.
 
Dan, thanks for sharing! Brings back so memories of so many penultimate events in our lives. The calamities of the '60's certainly erased the age of innocence our parents enjoyed so much in the '50's.
