Had a great time at the dealer symposium at Magico today.

Even got to hear this incredibly dynamic system.

CH. Berk REF2. Kronos Pro with SCPS-1. MIT cabling. Magico racks. QPOD's everywhere!

Don't shoot me, but I just don't dig CH sounds.

We had some great discussions about electronics for Magico. Let's just say, there is LOTS of great options - tubes and SS.

VAC seemed to be the real consensus among us dealers for the tube side.

Mike convinced us he's over cones & domes, but I think he secretly indulges in them when the lights are out and no one is looking..;).

I like my weirdo stuff. [emoji6]

Remember - the ULTIMATE Magico is a horn speaker. [emoji14]

Well Magico must love them , it's part of their main demo gear. :)

The VAC mono's are really good tooby amps, good bass, jump and nuances very well. IMO, they are the NO1 non SET tooby (mono) amps i have heard todate, plus they have that 1 ohm tap ,

Bless Kevin for that ... :scholar:.

Regards ...

Mike,

Does that mean you were not completely satisfied with the sound you heard from that Q7 Mk2 system? Did you hear the Q7 with any other electronics?

I've heard them with Aesthetix and Spectral before. Preferred them with Spectral over CH and after you hear the M series, there's no going back. M over Q is revolutionary, not evolutionary IMO.

Mike,

Does Magico rotate electronics in their listening room? Eg. Do they have the Soulution stuff stored away or is CH now their standard Solid State of choice? However, it does seem that the sources have stayed consistent. the Kronos Pro and Berkeley Reference.

Thanks

Yes. There is a room right beside the listening room door with all the gear they rotate through: Constellation, Soulution, Vitus, CH, CAT, etc.

But the sources stay the same: Kronos and Berkeley Ref 2.

Cabling changes - sometimes MIT, sometimes TaraLabs, sometime something else.

The point is, there are many electronics and cables that work well with Magico. Pick your flavor and enjoy.

As for the consistency of sources, I couldn't agree more! Kronos!! Berkeley!!

Seems that except for a brief time, Magico always use MIT cables

Do u recall the MIT models being used?
