Adele 25

I don't think I'll ever understand what Adele is trying to do. In my opinion it seems like she insists on singing well out of her range and abilities. Personally I find her very hard to listen to. If she stayed in range and did stuff like Amy Winehouse did for example, she would really shine. I wish she would do that because if she keeps doing what she is doing she is going to lose her vocal cords real quick and her career will be over.
I caught her live in a four song acoustic set and she over-does it there too. It makes me cringe every time she goes out of range as it makes her sound slightly off key and it hurts my ears. What bothers me as well is when she was in her range in the set she sounded fantastic if she would just stay there! She would make an excellent jazz singer, hands down.
I think what she is trying to do is make a sh.. load of money .....oh and succeeding ;-)
I agree its a shame about the recording quality but I love the album

Yes, unfortunately at the expense of quality (and maybe her own health). I also don't buy into all that record breaking stuff, the numbers are skewed as usual (it's the way of the industry), although no doubt sales are very good, we can't deny that. It's amazing what marketing hype can do.

True, but I "figger" with all the dosh she made, she can now self finance an "Adele's favourite" audiophile grade album for her OWN posterity...to listen to when she is over say 45 years old. She should be looking to preserve her legacy and cement her voice in "amber". What is a mere $250K to her to go link up with a Barry Diament/Bruce Brown/Tom Caufield, etc and either re-record or work on the original tapes to get a finessed version and she could even charge $25 for this hi-rez download version!

BTW, apparently with the surgery a couple years back, her voice is a lot stronger than before...

First, If she had released a "higher SQ" album it wouldn't have changed the sales by even .002%.

Second, I also doubt it would change the number of times most of us would decide to play it.

I tried to listen to a few tracks on you tube just to know who she is and what she does. I have completely ignored all of it until today. Not my kind of music at all but what I can say is that at least there is a full band of music as opposed to just a piano and singer, but on the flip side reading all the comments about SQ, it doesn't help her case.

As long as you all like her, that's all that matters. Enjoy!

Personally, listening to her, I think she has lost a tad, not much but a tad since the injury requiring surgery. She still has a great voice. I am sure she is being very careful not to tax it like she did before the surgery.
