I just ordered a new 75 inch flat screen TV for the new house. Does anyone make an acoustic panel that would fit over the TV?

I would like it to look like a piece of Art, or a good print. Something very beautiful to look at, and functional.

I would try GIK ArtPanels. They are good acoustic panels and you can have a choice from thousands of stock photos to choose from or you can send a photo of your own to be used. I am not sure of the size limitations, but they are great to work with.

I would be very careful with what acoustic treatment if any to use on a TV panel. I've experimented a little here and advise against absorption in front of the panel which will result in delicate upper frequency loss above 5KHz.

If your panel is not wall mounted, you can place absorption behind it!

Before you commit to anything, throw a beach towel over it and see what you think.

You could frame some ply and mount some Vicoustic Wavewood panels on it. Glue felt behind the ply to protect the TV panel and Velcro the entire contraption for easy removal.

I appreciate all the advice I can get. I know virtually nothing about acoustic panels. I was just guessing that something over the TV would be preferable to nothing.

Jim, I will check them out.

Those art panels are 24x48 for the largest, but they would no doubt make you anything you needed. Before we moved back to Fl, I used a thick wool quilt over my 65" TV and looked pretty darn good and the wife didn't mind and we also used different quilts to match the seasons when the big screen wasn't on. Cheap to probably not as good as some "material in a acoustic panel but it seem to work ok... Just a thought,

I am going to have a curtain made for the tv. I am matching the browns in the speaker, and will pull it the sides when listening to tv, and close it for 2 channel.Like a movie theater
We put a blanket over the tv and the sound height increase was amazing.
I have a lot of gik panels, and they are kind of heavy and 75 inch panel would be difficult to put up and take down.Plus the bracketing to hold it.
Please advise if you come up with something. thanks

I think they will make them just about any size. Now shipping could be an issue.

I found this in their site.

Following is basic pricing for most common sized ArtPanels. GIK Acoustics can create ArtPanels up to 96″.
