About to pull the trigger on Tannoy

The kingdoms are amazing definitely a big step up from Canterbury , that said I switched to the Canterbury GR and to be honest I can't see the value as much in the kingdoms . The Gr are dam close , it's hard to give a direct comparison cause there on completely diff setups and the kingdoms are in a fully treated room . As fas as placement the kingdoms are definitely more fussy and even with 6 months of playing around I still have 2 sight dips I can't get rid of yet . Yes they need to be pulled away from the wall , not so much side but definitely rear. Everytime I got them closer then 36" I started to lose the female vocal soundstage, it would just muddy up for some reason not slightly either . As far as music both with run wild with jazz ,classical soft rock, but the kingdoms will pull away when it comes to heavy rock , or what is considered "r&b today" the Canterbury will start to bleed at a certain point when it's fast music . The Kingdom I have yet to find a track that the drivers can't handle with ease. I can't stand computers so after I figure out how I'll have some recoding of the kingdoms plays a few tracks I'll up

How big is your room ? And distance from your seat ?

Also you always put the grilles on ? Just curious:)

No they are for the most part bass traps , all ASC , my diffusion is mostly on the ceiling and side walls other then the two front wall top half is diffusion . The traps next to the speakers are combo diffusion trap , depending on how you spin it . I know it looks funny but works darn well if I only had the budget for one in the room that's where it would be. To this day I don't understand the reasoning but they were admit . In fact there should be one on either side , and it did show improvement when I did it.in the end you gotta stop at one point ... But if you don't or have not ever tried it and you have a dedicated room ( or a blind wife) give it a shot 2 traps you should be able to find inexpensive and very easy test is in and out of phase pink noise cd . It will amaze you how much you can correct peaks and dips that simply and twist it a few inches and you will slowly adjust till you flatten out ..I absolutely hate the look and it's a hard sell but . Working with 2 of the best out there in acoustics both wouldn't even listen to other options . " They need to be on either side of the speaker in line with the driver" .... Why ..good luck with getting a strait answer in English . .. Fromlaser measurements I have saved on my clients , the best I can incur is the reflections off the rear wall almost always passes right through the speaker and the first side reflection point if your room is anywhere near audio standards . So I've decided to save my sanity and accept that as the benefit.

Another project I did for a friend. Some of you may know the room as the finished project is pretty well know . This was build from ground up, it is a complete floating room . Mike this one has expensive diffusion ( every other wall pad ) as well as 9 on the ceiling . This pic was mid way so the acoustic soffit as well as the Side walls and lower panels are not complete but you can get the idea
