About to pull the trigger on Tannoy

Here is Jim Smith's Tannoy Canterbury SE ( Last generation ) with two subs behind speakers and raised height.

I spoke with him last Sunday what a nice dude. Jim and Jeff have same taste on system .

A. Keep the Westminster Royal Gold Reference

B. Keep the Canterbury Gold Reference

C. Go for both. Paul you have extra room !

Paul good luck on the speaker dilemma. Reading your post the Westminster sounds like the ticket. That extra 11% on the Westminster will make the difference on it being your last speaker. You'll never second guess yourself. Your not going to know whether you made the right decsion until 6 months to a year from now. I've been there.

If these truly are destination speakers, A.

If you can wait until I get to Toronto in the summer, I can help you decide! :)

That being said, which one works best in your room? Only you can answer? B???

Mike would you ask Mark on that ???? He will go crazy :sneaky:

Both work extremely well in my room No bass or overkill issue. However I was so happy with the Canterbury until the Westminster came.

When the Westminster stated to play my first impression was "OMG,... Sounds stage was huge...and that extra bass gave me my heart pounding . When Mark and I sat down with the Canterbury we both said everything is perfect but we can use bit more bass being at 28hz. The Westminster kill that department compare to any speakers I ever heard. so my answer to your question is both.

Just want to add one more thing after I did A & B test for last couple of hours. I have to rephrase the 89% to 80 %.

On Classical music the difference was huge I mean huge ....

I really don't care either way as long as Paul is happy. But why on earth Paul has not decided on the big guns is beyond me!!! They sound ridiculously good in his room. They may be too big for his room but only visually, Sonically they are perfect.

OK, there you have it, sorry for the forwardness.
