About to pull the trigger on Tannoy

We raised an extremely important high point in high-end audio in our last few posts: The quality of the music and the recording itself.
There are numerous versions of Beethoven Moonlight Sonata, and the various playings by different musicians, different record labels, recording engineers, venues (halls and recording studios), the musical instruments themselves, the microphones used, their positioning, the cabling, the recording machines, etc., all contribute to various audio nuances in their impact delivery and emotional wisdom and freedom. ...The internal human chords that are being stricken depends on the quality musicianship and level of their emotional playing plus the music recording quality itself.

But it is mostly the emotional association we deeply feel that impacts us the most at the end; between the musical performance, the performers, and the listeners, us.

The music medium (LP, CD, SACD, hi-res audio download, R-2-R tape, Blu-ray Audio, DVD-Audio, DAD, SAD, DAT, ...) and the audio gear (amp, preamp, speakers, source, ...) are simply the messenger, the reproductive devices.
Pick your music well and play it well. ...I can feel it from Paul's latest video, can you?

At the end, no matter how much your audio hi-fi stereo sound system is worth, it's all about the music, the quality of the music (spiritually and physically).
...The direct relation between the hearing sense and the soul of a man/woman. ...The reproducer, the messenger (loudspeaker), the source, the room, the preamplification and amplification, ...are all important in the distribution system, but still secondary to the music being played and which touch the emotional human chords at various levels. ...The listener is the most important audio gear than all the others reunited together. We have to respect ALL music listeners if we are truly high-end audiophiles and world wide music lovers.
That's the first rule of them all.
 
Me, it's the oboe's playing that touched me first; the music, and its recording quality. Then I strongly believe (without a doubt) that it was the reproducer; Paul's excellent speakers that helps tremendously in communicating that emotional vibration.
And all of this from a simple youtube video made by Paul. ...So I can imagine what it would sound and be like sitting in Paul's main listening chair in his own room. Can you?

Like always I'm going to be totally honest, even if you want to make love to me, send me a big check (cheque), or decapitate me with a samurai sword! :D

The first video I've seen it before, and the voice doesn't match the singer's age. /// That does nothing to me, even if the picture would be missing.

The second video is a performance by Sarah, and I'm simply not a fan of her, even after having tried hard. She simply doesn't strike my emotional chords.

Paul, music is like wine, women, ... :) ...But thx I do respect your taste and appreciate the sharing. ...'The Mission' motion picture soundtrack; that I like, and the various versions, and with Yo-Yo Ma. ...And the effort you put in recording it (the video) in your own room and reproduced by your excellent new speakers. ...They reproduce 'The Music' like true champs, even from my far away listening chair.
 
What happened to Paul? Has he been transformed to Audio Nirvana?

Doug....I'm still having a dilemma .

Canterbury : It's super nice sounding speakers. I wouldn't need anything more in terms of SQ and I think better fits in my room and pocket as well.

Westminster : Their Prestige Top of the line. This was kind of my mistake to bring in my room but same time I didn't want to look back but turned out to this wasn't a good move.

The Westiminster's back load horn sound and the deep natural bass was big win over the Canterbury. However I still think its little too big on both sounds and my pocket too.

If I have to rate them on sounds comparison the Canterbury does 89% of what Westminster does. The back load horn sounds on West is something very special especially on voice and bass.

I was going to mentioning this to Mike's thread but I will mention it here. As you know I have/had big speakers last two years and the problem was the bass. ( same as Mike having ) Every time I brought the speakers to my audio room the bass sounded like kind of BestBuy's cheap home theatre sub woofer sound to me.

But the Tannoy solved that problem right from day one. I can't believe how natural and deep bass coming out from 15" paper cone drive. being said that If I keeping the Canterbury than I might want to get a nice Sub and might want to raise the height a bit ( just like Jim Smith did ) but than again that fill the gap on West and Canterbury's price difference almost.

Hope I explained enough about my current situation.
